Alexey Titaremeko
Alexey began taking photographs at the beginning of the 1970s. He uses and themes his photography on the passing of time, ghosting and ways of movement. His techniques are very unique; firstly he turns his photos into black and white to add more age to them and then he fades any moving thing or object to make them ghost like and slightly haunted (own above). I have used a variety of his work to show you a range of his collections and photographic series. Since his photography development over the past 20-30 years Titarenko's photograph series from the early 1990s won him a well deserved worldwide recognition, Since his photography development and sucess, Alexey has recently moved to the America and now lives and works in New York.
Amanda norman
Amanda Norman is a dark gothic photographer from Liverpool. She effectively edits her photos to add gloomy and mysterious effects. On her website (www.amandanorman.com) you can purchase prints, view her galleries, read Amanda's bio and blogs. Even though she isn't a famous or well known urban photographer,I am inspired by her work especially with the darkness she has put in her work to make them appear horror like. I particularly like the photo to the top left as it adds a sense of mystery and seems as if the person in the photograph is walking into the darkness and is guided by the light of the street lamp. I also like the idea of the angel wings in the middle edit as it adds extra emotion and feeling to the photograph. I would like my work to be influenced by Amanda during this Urban theme to make a unique final piece.
I had returned to Old Northam again on found some interesting graffiti. Due to the weather and light availability I was able to capture some darker photos which were fortunately inspired by Alexey Titaremko, and some not so dark photos which are less appropriate for ghosting.
EXPERIMENTING WITH FINAL PIECES
For my final piece I have been inspired by both Alexey Tiraremeko and Amanda Norman. Above you can see an edit I have created by using a sad/ depressed looking person on the floor. By transferring some angel wings over the top and reducing the opacity to make the wings seem as if they're only slightly visible, I wanted to create the creative effect as if the person is a fallen angel who doesn't belong in this world. For the final image I would like to take a dark alley way photograph and increase the contrast and decrease the brightness to make the photo darker and more sharpened. After that I will turn the background image black and white to make it mysterious. Finally I will as the angel figure in the ally and change its opacity to make the image look more realistic.
